When im trying to have correct tongue position,it obstructs the airway. This problem can be solved through a palate expander.Do you think that the
Quad Helix palate expander lets you maintain correct tongue position and it isnt obstructive like hyrax? Also,by expanding your palate through an appliance wont that mess up
your upper and down teeth alignment and subsequently you will need braces? I cant understand…

Some claim that the lower jaw grows natrually to accommodate the expansion of the upper jaw, although many seem skeptical to this and I can’t see any mechanism that would cause the lower jaw to grow, only to perhaps tilt the lower molars and premolars slightly.

I will be expanding my palate using the upper schwarz active plate firstly, then if some form expansion occur, I will order the lower expander as well since I doubt the lower teeth would magically realign. I don’t expect the lower expander to expand my mandible, only to move and tilt the lower teeth to proper occlusion.

The lower expands because the teeth meet cusp-fossa. When the upper is slightly wider than the lower, every time you bite down when you chew this causes a compressive force on the outside of the mandible body, and tension on the inside, where there’s compression the bone resorbs, where there’s tension new bone is deposited.

I haven’t worn my lower appliance in two three months, and my mandible has kept pace with the expansion of my upper jaw.

I believe sinned’s explanation is right.

Alright so the bite aligns with time.

What about the gap that palate expanders make? Does it close over time?

I mean seeing no progress from mewing+a big front teeth gap sounds really bothersome

Yes, the gums are elastic and will slowly pull the teeth back together.
