What kind of palatal expansion? AGGA vs. RME vs DNA?

I am a 19-year-old male and have had nasal congestion my entire life. I recently had septoplasty and bilateral turbinoplasty surgery to correct this, but this does not change the fact that I have been mouth-breathing my entire life and my craniofacial complex did not develop correctly. I have been diagnosed with moderate obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS), TMJ and chronic neck pain from poor posture. I also have bruxism and   gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). I am looking to expand my palate as my intermolar width is currently only 34mm (measured by dental professional) and then potentially undergo maxillary advancement surgery.

My question is therefore, what is the difference between the palatal expansion devices (AGGA and controlled arch, RME and DNA) and how do I know which one is right for my case? Is there any x-rays or CBCTs I should get before deciding which is best?

Any advice should be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Joe

Loads of helpful info on this video about FAGGA and growth guidance appliances, specially if you have TMJ and migraine issues. Helps you understand a bit more about how these appliances work.

Maybe the way to start is by looking for a provider you trust that’s accessible to you, and go from there? I’ve seen folks on here ask for referrals for their own country or region. You want a provider you feel great about, if they are going to work on your face!
