What doesn't make sense to me about engagin the back of the tounge.

As with other members of this site my posture came mainly from forward head posture. But there is one thing i dont understand Looking at this video  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VtrJWHjma1o&t=601s and the gif from the video provided below, it seems like the back of maxilla gets pushed upwards when facial recession happends, can someone explain this? Why would you then push the maxilla in the back of the roof of your mouth if its allready jammed up wrongly?

 

+ Does anyone know if facial recession shifts the position of the eye in some way, as it seems as if that happends in reccesed individuals?

I think the engagement of the back of the tongue pulls the back of the maxilla down. Which makes sense because it is really the gonial angle that makes people look recessed.
