Should I remove permanent bottom retainer?

Simple as the title. I see no benefit to keeping them on tbh, well I mean maybe they'll not be straight after many years when I'm an old man but if I maintain proper oral posture that shouldn't happen right? I'm scheduling a routine checkup with my dentist for a cleaning and think it might be worth it to just see if they can take it off while I'm there.

As you undergo correction in the near future, please consider keeping records for your own sake and for others. Pictures of dental impressions, scans, medical reports reports can be very helpful even with all personally identifying information blocked out.
