Receding tongue leads to a receding maxilla?
Stick out your tongue, the back of the mouth comes forward.....
This could be why our maxilla's are recessing..... Lack of forward growth means you have to place the tongue BACK, resulting in the top back third of mouth going back and up...... and the maxilla follows by raising at the back..... causing downward growth from a maxilla that is turning up at the back and down at the front.
so could literally just sticking out the tongue help the maxilla? even if it seems counter intuitive and doesn't help the pallet.... could it help bring the maxilla to a more optimal angle?
what do you guys think?
I suppose this theory could be an interpretation of the previous "new theory" about the palatoglossus muscle.....?
