Hey, I am 26-year old started mewing last week. Since my IMW is 32-33mm, I am really struggling with mewing and proper oral posture. On the left picture down below you can see how since the tongue is too big it goes over the teeth. I can close my teeth while doing that because I bend the tongue a bit, but I don’t think I should do that. However, I can pull my tongue a bit more back so the tip does not reside that much forward (picture right, apologies for ugly drawing). That way my tongue actually can come up entirely touching palate and maybe molars. With time this might make palate a bit wider. This and thumb pulling might be my approach here and with time putting tongue more and more forward until the proper posture is achieved. (I would go with palate expanders but there is no dentist around). Thoughts?
As I understand it, this is the same method @eddiemoney used:
Posted by: EddieMoneyI eventually worked my way to the papilla. Started behind the rugae and just mostly on soft palate and half of the hard palate. No rugae contact even. It widened my palate laterally so that I eventually reached the papilla.
I also started with a narrow palate. This is in my view quite the right way to go. The front can come in time. Movement is slow at the beginning. I have seen people here get palate expanders online and through the post. Search for threads on it.
i also have a narrow palate. what i do is i put my chin against my fist, put my tongue back and squeeze it in my jaw. i have seen good results.
