Hi,
I just got my y-palate expander from bracesshop I actually thought I was going to get some sort of manual on how to turn with the key I got.
I’m going for the suggested semi rapid expansion which I guess is 1 mm per week?
how many turns is that? Do you turn everyday or once a week? I can’t find any information on this
another thing is that I received an impression of my teeth and I’m no longer sure If I want to this, I mean I don’t have a problem with my bite and my teeth are straight due to braces I had when I was a kid, but I did get two teeth extracted (upper jaw) and my face… well looks flat and I literally have no jaw definition. There’s one provider that specializes in expanders like MSE where I live but they have flat out refused to take me in and also claimed that expanding the suture doesn’t grow any bones or bring any forward growth. They also only treat kids.
I’ll post a pic so you guys can get an idea of what it looks like
I’m 23 female btw
any advise is appreciated

IMO, this is probably a wise decision. No one should be aiming to self-treat -- in fact, the admin here posts a disclaimer to that affect as well. There are way too many risks which could cause irreversable damage ... you simply don't have the experience of a dentist that has been looking into mouths for 10-20 years to know what to look out for.
There are some interesting cases of doctors seemingly getting forward growth improvements through Invisalign - but they are very hard to find, your neighborhood Invisalign provider probably isn't going to get results like that. But in some cases they can be quite noticeable - look at the 3rd photo for this patient: https://www.instagram.com/p/CbNBQcCueO3/
