How to Fix my Asymmetries

New Member

First off, I'd like to apologize for the redundancy of this topic on this forum. Despite being new, I've come across quite a handful of posts addressing this topic, not only here but on the orthotropics subreddit and other internet forums.

With that being said, I started Mewing around very late March early April, but I didn't decide to actually become dedicated towards it until a week or so ago, but I've still made a slight improvement.

As my mewing progress began to show, I've noticed that my face is asymmetrical. At first I thought it was cheek fat, poor photo quality, or just hyper analyzing myself but I ruled all of this when I noticed this asymmetry(though not as obvious) in older pictures of me, when I took pictures of my jaw and face from multiple angles, and when I noticed my lips and palate were asymmetrical too.

To go into more detail, the right side of my face is more defined. Though my features aren't really definitive in general, I can definitely notice a more hollowed cheek on my right side. My hard palate is definitely higher up on my left side compared to my right. My ramus seems to be more defined on my left side. As for my lips they are my crooked and it appears that the right side starts higher up then the left.

I've chewed on my right side my whole life, and when I sleep its usually on my face(I know it's horrible I've changed this recently to sleeping on my back). I've also started wearing a myobrace stage 1 just to help me Mew at night. I don't know if it's making my asymmetries worse though.

Any tips on what I can do this fix this? I started to chewing exclusively on my left side, started sleeping on my back, and avoiding leaning my face into my hands, but is their anything else I can do? Thanks in Advanced!

P.S. No picture is attached because I'm rather apprehensive on posting my photo to the internet, I'm also a 20 yr old male, and will be turning 21 in January.
