Whenever I try to rest myself on a bed (sideways OR on the back of my head), I am UNABLE to keep the back of my tongue on the palate, even when I try all the tricks. However I am able to maintain it up there very easily when my posture is normal.
I have also noticed that I’ve been mouth breathing when sleeping. This is very scary to my progress.
Eventually when you’re used to mewing you can subconsciously do it while in REM sleep, however in deep sleep it’s impossible to mew since all muscles will be relaxed. I wouldn’t worry about it, mewing during sleep won’t improve progress by much.
I suggest you see an orthopedic doctor as soon as possible. My wife had a spinal hernia, and because she didn’t see a doctor in time, he had a hard time treating him. My tongue stays fully on the roof of the mouth the whole time, while I am awake and while I’m asleep.
It is not because I’m doing mewing or have ever done mewing.
This is because I do holographic breathing. In holographic breathing tongue naturally suckles itself to the roof of the mouth over a period of time. If you practice holographic breathing enough you will automatically start doing it in your sleep and then your tongue will be on the roof of the mouth all of the time.
The reason the tongue stays fully on the roof of the mouth in holographic breathing is because it releases all of its toxins and stress.
In mewing that doesn’t happen, you are just putting the tongue on the roof of the mouth and trying to keep it there so it is more likely to just fall off.
