Can someone give some quick tips on how to swallow food properly
I recently developed tmj and a tongue thrust, it been going on for a couple months. cannot afford to see a professional.
My goal is not to swallow to impart force and expand my palate, my goal is just simply to learn....relearn how to swallow like a normal person. How to have a healthy swallow.
What are some pointers you can give me on good swallowing?
Firstly, TMJ can be connected to the side of your face that you sleep on. If you are non stop sleeping on your left side every night you’re pushing your jaw to the right which can cause tmj. Change the side of your face that you sleep on to help push your jaw back into the middle.
Apart from that, swallow your food with your teeth pressed together and then take another bite. Don’t keep taking bites before you swallow properly.
Nobody needs pointers on how to swallow properly. Close your mouth, make sure you face muscles aren’t moving when swallowing, and it’ll be good form.
