Is it possible to do 2 rounds of MSE+FM (assume the first was successful). My goal would be to get that bit more of cheekbone expansion as well as more forward growth. My maxilla is currently quite undersized, but perhaps not to a severe degree.
Potential maxilla expansion is limited by aligning the bite with the mandibular arch. One 12mm MSE is usually enough to meet or exceed that limit, but there are techniques to pull the upper teeth back in or expand the lower arch to permit more skeletal expansion of the maxilla. 2 rounds of expansion is possible. Generally the second set of TADS would be placed a little forward or back from where the previous set came out to ensure stability.
@msefmimdohope I’m not knowledgeable about these surgical approaches, but any distraction osteogenesis on the mandible (IMDO, MSDO, etc.) will require invasive and expensive osteotomies. So I imagine two rounds of mandibular expansion would want to be avoided.
