I had tongue thrust since childhood till 7 months ago. I'm 19 y.o.

I've been mewing for 6 months. I try to swallow correctly (i can do cheesy swallow) but still i don't have hollow cheeks.

Should i get braces?

Please share your opinion.

Thanks

I had major gap between my upper incisors due to tongue thrust but since i stopped it the gap has reduced very much.

My lower incisors haven't changed much.

Before i cured tongue thrust i wasn't able to bite things with my incisors but now i can.

So maybe lower incisors moved outwards to match upper teeth.

@darkindigo

For 3 months in beginning i thought pushing on hard palate was also  necessary so i pushed on it.

I think it hypertrophied frontal muscles of tongue.

About 3 months ago i stopped pushing anywhere and it's getting back to normal. I just use suction now.

Based on a limited view, DO NOT DO ANY TREATMENT because there is optimal intercuspation. Dark Indigo appears to be biased in favor of the ortho industry, and does not substantiate.

Do you think lip seal will solve it over time?

I thought about braces cause protruding incisors make chin look smaller.
